The Jackson County School District is seeking a 5-year waiver with the other schools in the NEA Educational Cooperative for the school start date. Right now the law states that the start date for 2024-2025 be on or after August 19 and no later than August 26. The waiver would grant districts the option of an earlier start date. The end dates are an estimate without any closures for the year.
-Begin August 19 and end May 16 (with snow days May 19-22); or
-with waiver: Begin August 12 and end May 9 (with snow days May 12-15)
JCSD is seeking parental input for the waiver application. Please click on the link below to answer the survey, a Gmail account is required.

Our toddler class are learning about nursery rhymes this month. This week was Humpty Dumpty and Hey Diddle Diddle, they enjoyed making deviled eggs and tasting their creations. Another activity was hunting eggs to find healthy snacks inside. We also celebrated 100 days of school!

THS Junior High Quiz Bowl team won 3rd in the Regional tournament and earned a spot in the State Tournament. Bronx Holland earned High Point Honors with an average of 9.5 points per game. Team members are Bronx Holland, Zeke Church, Ryan Keller, Courtney Clark, Eve Jones and Troy Bodeker. Coached by Prisscilla Callahan.

AFMC, in conjunction with White River Health, donated two "One Box" kits to JCSD. The kits contain resources to help reverse the effect of opioid overdose. Opioid overdoses are on the rise, and our district is very fortunate to receive these boxes. JCSD staff will be trained to look for signs of overdose, and how to use the contents of the "purple box". Pictured are AFMC rep Jerry Rushing, THS Counselor Michael Smith, JCSD Nurse Stacy Bright & NEA Divine Intervention Rep Nicole Hanners.
