With this extreme heat this week we decided to do a little experiment.
We let each child predict what they thought would happen if we kept the crayons in the shade vs. If we placed them in the direct sun.
In the shade the crayons weren’t even getting soft. After placing them in the direct sun it didn’t take long for them to completely melt out of their wrapper. 🖍️ ☀️ ~ Mrs. Heather & Mrs. Susan pre-K

This week our class has been discussing "Our Bodies" with our new frog Street curriculum. Some of the activities we have done includes: learning how our skin has receptors and allows us to feel hot/cold as well as different textures. We passed around a tray of different textures for everyone to feel and talked about the items. We also discovered our shadows outside with the sun light and traced our body outlines.

Our Tuckerman toddler class has been learning about our five senses this week using our new Frog Street Curriculum. During our outside time today we used our sense of touch to figure out the differences between sand and water, we found that sand was rough and dry while water was smooth and wet. To explore our sense of taste we tried a sweet cotton candy and very sour lemons, here are a few pictures of their reactions!
