This week in pre-K our theme is "Kind and Helpful Me"
Our children and exploring ways to be kind and helpful to friends and family. We are learning that an act of kindness can make a difference, especially if they pass it on to someone else.
In our morning connection we have started a pass the lotion ritual. We each used a kind, caring and compassionate touch with one another as we passed a dab of lotion around the circle. We met our goal of making the lotion come back to the original person and then we was able to celebrate, "WE DID IT!"
We are still working on phonological awareness and syllable segmentation as well as concepts of print and alphabet knowledge.
We made a list of "kind words" that we can use to others.
In math we learned how to make Tally marks to tell how many. Each child would make a mark for each Pom-Pom they counted out and then when they reached five they would put a diagonal line through to represent 5.

6th, 7th, and 8th grade GT students participating in the Scarlet to Black Financial Challenge at ASU!

Hoops are back! Both Sr. High teams open the season tonight in the Pangburn Classic. Sr. Girls tip off at 6:30 with the Sr. Boys to follow. We would love to see a crowd there. Go Dawgs!

We played a game with the numbers 1-5. We had 5 cups and hid one connecting cube under a numbered cup and then mixed them up and the kids had to guess which number cup it was under. Next I passed out the 1-5 cards and the kids had to find the correct number on the paper that matched their card and then sign their name. The kiddos loved this activity and learned so much!

On Tuesday, Tuckerman Cross Country hosted the 3rd annual Jacksonport River Run at Jacksonport State Park. Zeke Church came in second in the Jr Boys race with another personal best and school record of 8:45. All of the runners ran so well and many ran their personal best time! Eighteen schools attended the meet. We would like to thank Merchants and Planters Insurance for their donation, and also to Danny Worthington, Mandy Daniels, and Sarah Metzger for helping work the meet. Also, a big thank you to Mark Ballard and everyone at Jacksonport State Park. They mowed our course, parked cars and busses, and the facilities were perfect for our meet! Thanks to Lee Huckabee for driving the lead ATV, and to Bridgett Huckabee and Amanda Best for all their help as team moms! On Tuesday, the team will run at Joe Mack Campbell Park in Jonesboro for the Blazer Invitational. Go Bulldogs!

Tuckerman Waterworks & North Jackson County Rural Water Association customers are all under a boil water order.
The boil order will remain in place until the Arkansas Department of Health indicates there are no pathogens or bacteria in the water.
Residents should boil water for three minutes before using for cooking or drinking. They should also dispose ice cubes and remake with water that has been boiled.

This week in pre-K our focus is to be healthy, safe, helpful and kind. We are learning about people in our neighborhood and community who help us safe and healthy. We've talked about what we wanted to be when we grow up and drew a picture representing it. In our creativity station we used toilet paper tubes as custodian mops and painted. Then we reflected on how it was different from using a paintbrush. We have started syllable segmentation with our daily sentences and learning that we can segment our names as well. In math we are locating and identifying numerals in our environment and practicing how to order them along a horizontal and vertical line. We're using our thinking skills on how numerals are used to label and indicate ordinal positions.

. We had a visit from Mr. Kinder about the weather on Tuesday. Today we were so lucky to have the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Tuckerman City Police, Tuckerman Fire Department, Tuckerman Ambulance Service take time out of their busy day to allow the children to sit in their vehicles. Also, Mrs. Latisha and Mrs. Stephanie, 2 nurses came and talked about the importance of hand washing. THANK YOU!!!
